Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures Textbook (2nd Edition)
- Exploring Creation with Zoology 2 offers a God-centered look at the strange and unique creatures of the sea, lakes, and rivers
- Takes a hands-on, immersive approach based on the Charlotte Mason philosophy
- Projects include creating an ocean box filled with miniature replicas, raising Triops, charting migration paths, making mini-books and more
The Exploring Creation with Zoology 2 Textbook introduces children to various swimming creatures, from their special features and unique watery environments to the special circumstances they face. As children take a closer look at the specific groups of swimming creatures, they create replicas to add to an ongoing "Ocean Box," and conduct neat experiments like discovering the insulating power of fat, chart migration paths, start an aquarium, raise Triops (Sea Monkeys), and investigate how the frog’s skin absorbs oxygen from water. They'll also add to their notebooks by drawing the animals in them, comparing and contrasting animals, and much more. Whether the ocean is a familiar place to your children or not, they'll be equally fascinated by learning about the unique creatures beneath the water. The appendix includes the supply list for all the activities (organized by lesson) and an answer key to the What Do You Remember questions from each unit.
Take a journey under the sea with God’s amazing creatures in Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day, 2nd Edition, geared toward elementary students. In this special ocean-centered zoology book, students will learn all about God’s glorious design of swimming creatures.
Young explorers will also have fun conducting interactive experiments and hands-on activities from the textbook and Notebooking Journal (sold separately). They will even create their very own ocean box, adding in creatures as they learn about them.
Students’ journey under the sea begins with an introduction to oceanography, which includes topics such as the oceans’ structure, salinity, tides, and waves. After becoming young oceanographers, students will continue their adventures by studying marine biology. They will learn all about God’s amazing swimming creatures, including whales, cephalopods, mollusks, gastropods, and more. They’ll learn not only about the creatures’ historical, physical, and behavioral significance but also about their important connections to humans.
