Description

This colorful workbook has a portrait orientation with double-sided, perforated worksheets. Lines are 5/16" but without the familiar “handwriting" house icon. Course emphasis is a combination of proper letter formation, size, spacing, and slant. Pages have a weekly pattern of handwriting practice that includes letter stroke warm-ups, reviews, tracing, writing, and copying. Letters, letter combinations, words, and sentences reinforce the phonics instruction. Poems, Bible verses, lists, riddles, paragraphs, and journal entries are used as copywork. About a third of the way through the 275-page book, there is a transition to creative writing and prompts are added. Assignments alternate between copywork and assigned paragraphs with prompts. The last section includes 31 tests that feature a copywork piece and a section for the teacher/parent to list things to practice. Before that is a “My Journal" section (blank pages with 5/16" lines) and eight pages with lines on one side and “cover" artwork on the other. These can be folded into little booklets featuring the child's original composition.

1 Question
Why did you choose this?

I needed it because we use Abeka and I buy unbound so that I can scan and print them easier because we don't write in the books.

My son used ABeka 1st grade, and he's ready for 2nd grade now. (I also learned to read with ABeka and used the curriculum through elementary school.)

Excellent quality paper. Long standing proven track record with my kids. Been home schooling 15 years, and 6 kids have already been through this program. Easy to use.
