The Apprentice's Companion to General Biology provides experiments, follow up questions and space to record answers and impressions. It also encourages the student to sketch observations in the provided space. Quotes, poems, and numerous graphics are found throughout to inspire students in their study of the natural world. While the author has tried to maximize the use of everyday materials, there are additional lab supplies required. Convenient, optional Lab Kits designed by Home Science Tools are sold separately. A microscope with 400x magnification is required and sold separately. A downloadable Teacher’s Notes PDF and the Materials Lists in pdf or excel, are available in the support tab at the publisher’s website. This is a required resource used in the Novare General Biology course.
