Primary Phonics Storybooks 2 is a set of 10 illustrated, decodable books that progress in skill and difficulty and provide opportunities for students to read in context. Phonetic concepts introduced and reviewed are long vowels with silent e, vowel digraphs (ie, oe, ee, oa, ai, ea), vowel digraphs plus “r”, and sentence construction. The illustrations are black and white with large, printed words. The inside cover of each reader displays a “focus concept” list of words that will be covered in that reader. This set includes the following titles – Mac Gets Well, The Big Game, The Joke, The Cake, The Bee, The Goat, Sail, The Seal, Hide and Seek, and The Fire. The readers measure 8½ x 5½. Sc, 16 pages.
The Primary Phonics Workbook 2 accompanies this storybook set. For additional comprehensive, systematic practice of the phonetic concepts introduced in Workbook 2, you can use the MORE Workbook 2 and the Storybooks Set 2A. Each book is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and has approximately 16 pages. All books feature engaging black and white illustrations; lively contemporary themes; and inside covers which clearly list phonetic concepts and sight words.
