Description
Piece together your own Junkers Ju 88 with this 1,160-piece COBI building block set! Part of COBI’s World War II Historical Collection, this set contains all of the blocks needed to construct the versatile German combat aircraft.
The Ju 88 was first introduced by the Germans at the beginning of WWII as a multirole combat aircraft and was one of the country’s most-used aircraft during the war. It served in a wide variety of capacities, such as a bomber, dive bomber, night fighter, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, and heavy fighter. Its most unique usage was as a “flying bomb,” where it was packed with explosives, attached to a fighter plane, and dropped as an unmanned drone onto targets, leaving the piloted fighter to return back to base. The Ju 88 featured four 7.92mm machine guns, one 7.92mm twin machine gun, and carried up to 6,600lbs of bombs.
This 1:32 scale model features a rotating propeller, moveable wing flaps and bomb hatches, a cockpit that opens, and wheels that both roll and fold up into the body of the plane. The Junkers JU-88 is another awesome set among the huge planes from COBI and the new star of the Historical Collection dedicated to the Second World War. The Ju-88 was a German twin-engine aircraft with versatile characteristics. It was called the "German Mosquito" for a reason. It can be easily compared with the West de Havilland Mosquito, which is also available from COBI! The Ju-88 was designed as a high-speed bomber and was perfect for low altitude attacks and shallow diving flight. It could also act as a night fighter, torpedo bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. It was one of the most popular planes of World War II! In the years 1939-1945, almost 15,000 units of this machine in many versions were produced.
The COBI model of the famous Ju-88 bomber has been carefully developed with the use of 1,160 building blocks in the sensational large scale 1:32. The set includes only permanent prints. You will not find a single sticker here! To better reflect the complicated shape of the cockpit, we have developed new patterns of blocks! There is also a pilot figure in the cockpit. The set includes movable elements such as propellers, ailerons and bomb hatches. Detachable bombs and retractable wheels are underneath the wings.
