Publisher's Description of All About Reading Level 3 Materials Color Edition
Package includes: one Teacher's Manual and one Student Packet (Activity Book, Flashcards, Stickers), and two readers.

The 54 lessons of Level 3 alternate between phonics teaching and story reading. Phonics lessons include a review of Level 2 concepts and coverage of ai, ay, oa, ow, fourth sound of y, consonant suffixes, vowel suffixes, drop the e rule, change y to i rule, ir, ur, or, oo, ea, igh, tch, dge, prefixes, ew, ea, wr, kn, o, eigh, oe, ea, and ti. Every second or third lesson is centered on reading a new story from the reader. These lessons include review, a warm-up sheet for the story (words and phrases from the story), vocabulary, an introductory literary analysis section (i.e. compare and contrast characters), and suggestions for a read-aloud time. The activity book is Swing Into Reading. Readers are Chasing Henry and Shipwreck! Chasing Henrys stories range from 8-17 half-pages of text. Shipwrecks stories are each about fifteen pages but there is slightly more text (2/3 page) on each page.

With its 2019 edition, all materials are in full color and although the stories and activity books are essentially the same, the Teachers Manuals have been expanded with additional teaching tips and hands-on learning activities.

Other levels have level-specific Materials Kits which include Teacher Manuals and Student Packets. If you have not used the program at a previous level, you will also need a set of Letter Tiles and the All About Reading Review Box. If you already have them from a previous level, you do not need to purchase these again.

Fantastic Reading Program
This is a wonderful reading curriculum, easy to use and fun for the kids. With the curriculum I originally used I spent hours finding supplemental activities and games, but this curriculum has those built right in. Highly recommend.

Top notch phonics curriculum
This reading program is excellent. We've used all four levels. It was fun for my advanced reader and so helpful for my son who hasn't learned to read quite as easily as my daughter.

Turns a reading lesson into story time!
I'm so grateful for this curriculum that grows with your child incrementally challenging them with new concepts (without frustrating them) while reinforcing previous learned ones. The new color edition is much more engaging and a welcome addition. Level 3 has high interest chapter book style stories.

Good but pricey
First time splurging on a full set. I did level two with just the teacher book and readers. We made our own flashcards and review sheets. I wish I would have done that again. The teacher book in color is really helpful.

It’s a solid program that really works! Very logical and easy to teach and also easy to tailor to an individual child.
