Description

These cursive handwriting lessons, based on weekly scripture verses, encourage kids to memorize and share God’s Word with others. Using a 5-day schedule, Level F includes 32 weekly lessons, providing daily writing practice of selected words from the scripture of the week. By day 5, students will write the complete verse onto a detailed border sheet from the back of the workbook, coloring it if they wish – before displaying or sharing it with others. 144 pgs, pb.

Publisher's Description of Reason for Handwriting F Student Workbook

A Reason for Handwriting Level E Student Worktext includes 32 weekly lessons, which each provide 10-15 minutes of daily practice. On days 1 - 3, students write letters and words from the week's Scripture verse. On day 4, students transcribe the entire verse on a sheet of practice paper. On the final day, students select a Border Sheet from the back of the book, and write the week's Scripture verse in their best cursive handwriting, then use their creativity to color the design on their Border Sheet.

Note: The weekly verse in A Reason For Handwriting Level F corresponds with the same week's theme verse in A Reason For Spelling Level F, thus reinforcing the Scripture content of each lesson.

Category Description for A Reason for Handwriting

An appealing, full-color Christian handwriting program that provides instruction and practice in handwriting (traditional style) with about 30 lessons per level (except for K which has 49). Each level has a letter designation, with a whole book for transition from manuscript to cursive in between B and C. The newly updated 2023 Transition book (Level T) is designed to replace either Level B (preferred) or Level C (a later transition for students needing extra manuscript practice) facilitating a mid-year transition from manuscript to cursive. Starting in Book C, all handwriting is cursive. In the more advanced levels, discussion questions accompany the weekly Bible verse. One more issue to note is the height of the lines; they are smaller in the cursive section of the Transition Book or Book C (3/8") than in the previous books (manuscript books have 5/8" lines). Each student workbook (except K level) contains a large back section of border sheets (nicely lined and bordered papers…one per lesson) as a weekly challenge for students to write their scripture verses on them "in their best handwriting." (Scripture verses are taken from the Living Bible.) The student desk card shows manuscript and cursive letters on a personal-sized card, or you can put the big letters up on the wall using the alphabet wall sheets. One comprehensive teacher's guide covers the whole series. Please note that sets are also available, which include the student book and teacher guide at a discount.

excellent
all 3 of my kids have done well with this. Their cursive is neater than mine, and a daily assignment is a manageable amount

Great curriculum
My son's love this curriculum series, and my daughter begs to have it too. (Her penmanship is combined with her Language Arts curriculum for this year. I intend to get it for her next term.) The daily work load is simple and short, and the fifth day is certainly a bright spot. They like choosing the paper from the back of the book on Fridays, writing neatly, and then coloring the border/pictures to make a colorful Bible verse poster. I'm glad I discovered this one!

Why did you choose this?

Love how they practice handwriting while memorizing bible verses, the blank pages at the end are nice for them to use as gift letters, coloring and practicing their handwriting

Love the Bible Verse coloring sheets. My children give them to their grandparents or hang them up each week

Most others curriculum stop before grade 6, thankful to find something to continue to challenge by 6th grader
