I have found Horizons math to be thorough and enjoyable Lessons are colorful and include several different exercises for example a single lesson may cover time money addition multiplication and word problems This keeps each function fresh in the student's mind The only problem I've found is that each set is about a year ahead of my child's level so in 4th grade she's using level 3 etc Also additional practice in multiplication has been necessary Overall it's the best program I've found thus far

Does this have a review for the Horizon 2 at all included in it?
Cassy T
There is a 5 page readiness test included which could review a few concepts. There are also several pages of supplemental practice sheets included to help with concepts that need more review. Horizons should have a readiness test free to download online to be sure your student is ready for this level. Horizons reviews past material often to help a student learn. They spend 2-5 days introducing a concept, 2-5 days practicing, then review the material every two weeks, then take a 4 week break, then review again every 2 weeks a few more times.

Is the spiral bound version of this teacher's guide an older edition?
Yes, it is. Horizons changed from a spiral binding on their teacher's to a "perfect" (i.e. paperback) binding a few year ago. The binding was the only thing that changed at that time.
