Odyssey (Puffin Classic)
Introduce young readers to Homer's Odyssey in a simplified, readable version written especially for them. This version re-tells the hero Odysseus' adventures as he makes the long journey home. Follow Odysseus as he encounters the greedy one-eyed giant, Polyphemus; Scylla, the six-headed sea monster; the beautiful Sirens; and the wrath of the gods. Retold by Geraldine McCaughrean. 92 pgs, pb. ~ Lisa
When we read we gain a great story but we also peek into other cultures, traditions and lifestyles. These Puffin Classics cleverly help open that door to peek inside. These editions include the full story text of each classic along with much more. Each book includes an introduction, but at the back is where you'll find the bonus features. In approximately 15 pages of additional material, you'll find an author profile, a guide to characters, Things to Do, Things to Think About, further investigations into specifics for that book (get a tour on the Hispaniola or delve into a Victorian Christmas, for example) and activities. Black line drawings are sprinkled throughout. 5" x 7", sc. ~ Ruth

For my younger to enjoy as his older brother reads the unabridged version
We have read the Odyssey from Usborne and loved it. I wanted to read it in different versions. We are using the Memoria Press Odyssey series, with literature guides in a couple years for our studies :)
For coming year school.
When I was little my uncle bought me the puffin classics collection. Now that I’m older I live to read it and I’m looking to add to the collection
