The Earth Dragon embodies the very spirit of the Earth itself. It is said that this beast is able to spring forth from the ground wherever it chooses, and is a protector of all the creatures and natural places of the world.
- Scientific Name: Draco terra
- Characteristics: This elemental spirit dragon is spreading its wings, which are covered in stars to signify the night sky. Its scales shimmer like the surface of the sea and two branch-like horns sprout from its head, along with a leafy frill. Its gnarled legs and feet symbolize the roots of the great trees of the Earth that have stood for hundreds of years.
- Size and Color: The Earth Dragon is a little over 5 inches long, and stands 6 inches tall to the top of its wings. It's a bit larger than a ceramic coffee mug. This hand-painted dragon figure features pearlescent blue and green scales on its body, with darker blue wings accented with yellow stars, brown for its tree-like horns and legs, green for the leafy plant-like portions of its head, and light brown for its underbelly.

Category Description for Safari Dragons Collection
If you've seen many pictures of dragons, you probably know that everyone's perception is a little different. I think they are big reptiles that have 4 legs, claws, teeth, 2 wings, reptilian eyes, a long tail and spikes on their backs. Some dragons look quite different, though; there are dragons that look like roosters (cockatrices), ones that have human faces, ones that are a mixture of several different animals, and ones that leave you with a confused "What is THAT!?" Safari's version of Chinese dragons are FANTASTIC. The purple one is very, very bright, the end of its tail looks like icy fire, and it's fit to be in any emperor's palace. The blue dragon is a more natural looking one, an able creature and a wise teacher. Also check out the Dragon Toobs for more cool-looking little dragons. Any dragon lover would like to have a few of these creatures to keep them company. Dragons below measure 7" long and 4" high. ~ Janine
