For children a bit older we are telling them about the painting and the artist. For art class we are telling them about ways to apply paint, helping them to see Impressionism and abstract applications. Great learning tool.

This set of art cards does not contain any works of Edgar Degas.
Tina HThe art cards are not laminated. I would recommend laminating them so that children can enjoy looking at and holding them. The cards are beautiful and are a great supplement to the Memoria Press enrichment guides. In our homeschool we placed the art card of the week in a frame. It made studying art more special.
Amanda RWe've used all three of these sets in the last few years in combination with our Memoria Press curriculum. All three sets include artwork from major art movements including: Renaissance, Baroque, Realism, Art Nouveau and Modern Art. Some of the artists include Michelangelo, Raphael, da Vinci, Picasso, Monet, Seurat, and van Gogh, There are many paintings, but also pictures of sculptures and other media (Tiffany glass for example). They provide an incredibly diverse introduction to art and my kids have enjoyed inspecting, critiquing and talking through the details of each piece. We use one art card a week for each grade in combination with Memoria Press Enrichment books which you can find here at Rainbow Resource. The Enrichment book provides artist background and usually a short intro to the specific art piece for each week. It's a great resource to use along with the art cards themselves.
N AI can't be for sure as we have mixed some of the cards. I had the unopened pack of first grade cards and I counted 35. I hope that helps.

Bought these cards to do picture study with my PK-2 grade kids
These are perfect for small area displays and keeping them around so the kids get exposure to art, especially since we don't have much in the way of art museums near us.
Going to combine with 1st and 2nd grade cards for Picture Study.
Continuing on from First Grade Enrichment. Used it in a 2 family co-op and have loved it for an enrichment day.
