My Printing Book Student Workbook (2022 Edition)
Building on the previous courses, My Printing reviews capital letters and numbers but primarily focuses on the correct use of lowercase letters in words and sentences. Activity pages combine handwriting instruction with other language arts lessons and children are given the opportunity to practice on different styles of lines.
Practice makes perfect when it comes to printing. Designed for first grade students and above, My Printing Book gives your students opportunities to review their printing abilities and reinforce other language skills such as grammar, writing paragraphs, and recognizing key word roots.

There are fewer manipulatives used at Grade 1, although the chalkboard, chalk bits, and sponge cubes are still used in these lessons.

You can probably start with Printing Power, but you should know that the strength of this program lies in its multisensory approach. I strongly recommend getting the teacher's manual and using the strategies it covers for helping your child physically prepare for writing. My kids loved the wood pieces for capital letters, but the roll-a-dough letters and chalk slate for the wet-dry try are also good choices.
The HWOT website is also full of good ideas and free printables that will help you. I use it for custom copywork pages.
I would start with first and be vigilant with practice and every time doing it right. I would say things like well it's not good but will work and now my 4th grader still struggles. Better to be consistent from the beginning.
I would go with the My Printing book. It progresses to words and not just letter formation. I think Letters and Numbers for me would just be review for her.
I didn't buy the teachers guide and feel it was not needed. Our son did great just using the workbook.
Next one in the series...successful pick for kids.
Handwriting work for my 1st grader. Have used this curriculum with each of my kids.
We use this series for each student, so now my son is ready for this workbook
HWOT is one of the best handwriting programs out there. It's really helped all my children learn how to print well. I recommend this to everyone!
