Publisher's Description of Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird Executive Edition - 1379 pieces (Armed Forces)

The SR-71 Blackbird was an American reconnaissance aircraft that served in the United States Air Force from the 1960s to the 1990s. It was designed by Lockheed Martin and was one of the fastest aircraft in the world. Its maximum speed exceeded Mach 3 (over 3,700 km/h), and thanks to its operational altitude of up to 26 km, it was difficult for anti-missile defense systems to shoot down. The SR-71 had an advanced design, using titanium, which allowed it to withstand the extreme temperatures generated during supersonic flight. It was mainly used for intelligence gathering as its ability to escape from enemy missiles was a legendary asset. From 1379 high-quality COBI blocks you can build the iconic SR-71 plane in a modeling scale of 1:48.

This plane appears for the first time in the COBI collection. The set has been carefully designed and its construction will bring a lot of satisfaction to the demanding builder. Detachable landing gear, movable wing ailerons and an opening cockpit are just some of the aviation functionalities that you will discover during construction. It has been covered with durable prints showing US Air Force markings. Also, the plane has NASA markings available only in the Executive Edition. In addition, the plane has two vibrant flames emerging from the powerful Pratt-Whitney engines. The set also includes figures of two pilots: a USAF pilot and a NASA pilot. They are dressed in characteristic suits with helmets designed for flying at very high altitudes.

The whole set is complemented by a block display stand with a plate containing the name of the set and the Lockheed Martin logo. Thanks to the intuitive instructions construction is simple and will not cause problems for less advanced builders. The set will meet the expectations of aviation fans, military enthusiasts and building block hobbyists. The SR-71 Blackbird will look great both in an adult collector and in a teenager's room. Build history, piece by piece, with COBI!
