Category Description for GeoPuzzles

These puzzles offer students a fun way to learn geography. Each includes pieces that attach to form a map of a specific continent. The great thing is that most of the pieces are shaped like the individual countries/states within that continent, so students will really get a feel for where the countries are and what they look like. Some of the larger countries take up more than one puzzle piece, and some of the smaller countries include the ocean they border, but generally the borders of the pieces are the same shape as the actual countries. Countries, capital cities, and large bodies of water are labeled on each puzzle. Each country is also a different color, so the puzzle ends up being a visually appealing map with countries that are easy to spot. Because of the differences in the continents, the puzzles come in different sizes with different amounts of puzzle pieces, which are listed below. Students will love putting together their own continental maps with these puzzles. ~ Rachel

Great puzzle to learn European countries
This puzzle is so much better than a regular style one for a map like this. I taped magnet strips to the backs so we can put it up on our white board, adding countries as we study them. Some pieces are tiny or grouped, but overall it is a great resource.

For my sons fifth birthday we bought him a Europe GeoPuzzle He was thrilled He eagerly put it together again and again After a few weeks my dear five year old had not only learned the basics of European countries and their locations but had developed a very fine grasp on what borders each country the ratio of sizes the coastlines and which countries are land locked -- facts that build a strong foundation for future history and culture studies By then I was thrilled and looking to purchase another GeoPuzzle These puzzles are straightforward and practical For the most part each country or sea is a piece What you see on the box is exactly what you get in the puzzle They arent simplified for kids or made kiddy-friendly which is an asset since they can be given to a 5 year old just as well as to a 12 year old They work great for sensory and visual learners as they can see and feel the shape of each country and how and where it attaches to the rest of its neighbors It wouldve been good to know that a few of the smaller countries are joined together into one piece I assume this is for ease of use as some European countries are teeny like Luxembourg but I was not aware of it before purchasing the product I also wished they had the major rivers printed on them Theres a lot to be done with these besides the regular puzzle making We play games such as removing a country while the other person closes his eye and then he has to say which country is missing and planning a trip route from one location to another In addition to its educational value I was very happy with the durability of the product This puzzle is made of good quality cardboard similar to a Melissa and Doug puzzle in quality All the pieces lie perfectly flat when assembled and are thick enough that they fit snuggly together It will last long enough to pass it down to a sibling The price is very affordable for the quality Im very happy with my purchase

We have just completed a semester-long study of Europe We used a world atlas library books and our Europe Geopuzzle The Geopuzzle has been a great addition to our geography study helping my kids to learn the countries of Europe in a hands-on manner I especially credit the Geopuzzle for their recognition of countries by shape and size The best thing about Geopuzzles is that the puzzle pieces are shaped like countries making it a great tool for teaching students not only the shape size and name but the location of each country in relation to the countries around it Occasionally two small countries are joined for ease of handling and placement but for the most part individual countries become one of the fifty to seventy pieces of the puzzle Also labeled are capital cities and major bodies of water When put together each puzzle is a rectangle showcasing the continent in the center but complete with the surrounding seas and oceans
