great curriculum
This is an excellent math program. My son does one lesson daily. We supplement one page daily of Singapore Primary Mathematics Standard Edition 6A/6B. Both Math programs compliment each other. The Singapore program involves more deeper thinking; but Horizons reviews previous skills and builds on new ones. My son does math throughout the summer and even during other school breaks/vacations. He loves math.

I have found Horizons math to be thorough and enjoyable Lessons are colorful and include several different exercises for example a single lesson may cover time money addition multiplication and word problems This keeps each function fresh in the student's mind The only problem I've found is that each set is about a year ahead of my child's level so in 4th grade she's using level 3 etc Also additional practice in multiplication has been necessary Overall it's the best program I've found thus far

Does this include the teachers book and all the workbooks and the manipulative kit?
These kits include both the student textbooks and the teacher's guide, which includes answers for grading. It does not include manipulative. There are excellent manipulatives by grade levels that work very well with this curriculum for sale at Rainbow though. It is an easy teach, easy grade curriculum and I have loved it through the years. My children are always way ahead with this curriculum (I have graduated 2 and have 2 children to go) and they love doing it! (Well, as much as kids love doing Math and school work...that's always a day to day thing)
does this set include the tests? or do I purchase the tests separately?
The tests are actually included in the student workbooks (in between lessons). You can either rip them out (along the perforated edges) and have your child take the test with a closed workbook or you can have the child take the test right out of the workbook. My boys never realize it's a test and complete it as "just another lesson" which seems to offer a lot less pressure for them and some pleasantly surprised kids.
