SPARKED LOVE OF HISTORY
I read this book aloud to my children at the ages of 2 and 5. They both enjoyed it, and my 5 year old went on to read everything she could find about the Wright Brothers, even listening to the David McCollough (adult history) book on CD. This one is a fine chapter book for independent readers, captivating for young and old, and gentle enough for tender young hearts. The author considers a child's perspective by including background about the brothers' meaningful pursuits in childhood play and work. Excellent character education, living science/history book!
