Got part way into it and stopped
My now 9th grade son has been doing analogy books for years. This is only the second one we have given up on. The main reason was that many of the analogies had two perfectly fine answers (IMHO), depending on how you linked the first two terms and whether or not you decided a word was a noun or a verb (e.g., "guard"). I realize that for SATs etc you have to be able to pick the "best" analogy, but in my opinion, in many cases where my son identified a different answer than the key, I didn't see how their choice was any "better" than his. It was very frustrating for him to constantly be getting 25 - 50% "wrong", so we stopped. The book contains a tutorial on doing analogies (including 3 sets of 10 warm-up analogies), a section of 15 pages of 20 analogies (5 pair choices each), and "vocabulary" section, which is essential a glossary of 300 words with very short definitions. Answers are included.

Are the answers in the book or is there a answer key book to purchase separately?

Answers are in the back of the book, but not explanations why the answer is correct.
