As kids trace and draw lines through each maze to find the exit, they'll build both pencil-control and reasoning skills.
Publisher's Description of My First Book of Mazes
Young children love tracing mazes with a pencil. Mazes let children have fun while at the same time improving their judgment and pencil-control abilities, both of which are crucial elements in their future studies. The aim of this book is to improve children's reasoning and motor skills.
I must say that these are very nice looking workbooks. Each 80-page workbook is printed on high-quality paper made especially for children learning how to write. The cute, highly-detailed illustrations, which are gorgeously colored, are also rather appealing. Looks aside, these workbooks are designed to encourage self-acquisition of skills. The Kumon approach of incremental mastery also fosters increased self-confidence in children. ~ Anh
I purchased my first Kumon book last year for my then two year old son He really wanted to participate when I was doing school work with my two older childrenI have purchased several of the Kumon books and even bought the maze book twice because my son finished one My son has very good fine motor skills so the mazes and tracing books have been fun practice for him However if you have a preschooler with little or no writing experiece Kumon bookS would be an excellent place to begin I plan to purchase the next level maze book the number book and letter book soon I am sure that I will be purchasing some of the books twice because he likes to work on his books so much! The books are very sturdy and the paper is heavy duty The pictures are nice and not inapproptiate for young ones
