The text overviews the development of people and nations of the world. After coverage of the era of exploration, the focus shifts to American history. As with other Christian Liberty texts, presentation is from a Christian worldview and comprehension questions appear at the end of each chapter. Unlike many of their texts, the illustrations and maps are in full-color, which adds to its appeal. Another nice feature is the inclusion of geography lessons as part of the course.
Publisher's Description of History for Little Pilgrims
This text follows the premise that the central theme of history is to build the kingdom of God, and that all of history is God's. It begins with the creation story and the Fall of Adam. It then uses the Bible as the foundation for how mankind and nations spread throughout the world. Finally it looks at His church and how it developed, the Reformation, and the founding and growth of the United States.
A Biblical history for your young primary students, beginning with the Creation. Teacher's manual available separately.
We are only on the second chapter, but I did skim through it first. I really like how they start with the beginning of creation, the world, and the USA. So far I have liked the books from Christian Liberty Press.

Written Well, Very Biased
I thought that an early elementary book would be pretty unbiased and neutral in it's writing, but this one was definitely not. It was written well as far as readability, but it was very anti-Catholic in it's commentary of historical events. Yes, I knew it was from a Protestant company before I purchased it, but again, I thought younger elementary years would be fairly neutral and just state facts rather than incorporate doctrine. It is a very nice overview, highlighting key events of Western History I just won't be using the parts that are more of an interpretation of history rather than facts.

We enjoyed this book! If you are looking for an overview of history from a biblical perspective that emphasizes American History and its biblical foundation you will enjoy this book I purchased it to use as the basis of our early elementary study of world history It was not what I was expecting but it gave us a "big picture" to begin the foundation of historical studies I loved the way it explained that history is "His story" with a beginning middle and "end" (all explaining a Biblical perspective) We made a time line as well and did use extra books to study some items in greater detail just like we would with any other text It has 121 pages with a section at the end of each chapter containing 5-7 review questions 6 vocabulary words and a fun activity The first half of the book is an overview of Bible history then it moves into the Reformation and on to American History all on an elementary level It is eye-appealing with cute and colorful illustrations along with photographs of famous places It does not contain much world history outside of the Bible It is more of an American history text than a world history text but it was very useful to us in our study of world history Note: One of the books we supplemented with was The Amazing Expedition Bible which parallels a world time line with biblical events

I thought this book was a great introduction to history in general-- showing how all of history is "His (God's) Story" This book is supposed to be an overview definitely from a Christian perspective--covering Adam and Eve through Pentecost and early martyrs of the faith I thought it was a great tool to use for several different aged children at once We made a time-line and put the people and events of the book on it We also added some of the other people or events that we came across in other readings With the coloring books and a teacher's guide book this curriculum could easily be both a Bible and history course for elementary age students

We used this along with another history story book for our daughter's kindergarten I was personally very disappointed in the book The stories seemed vague and general We did a lot of supplementing with books from the library along with some books we had on hand almost every time we used it It is good in that it is history from a Christian perspective but that's about it I would much rather use a history text that covers a shorter time span but is more in depth This book would be good for an older preschooler maybe a 3 to 4 year old but our daughter wanted more information than this book provided and when there are four little ones running around I can't always run off to the library for more books I will probably use it again with my other children but during their pre-kindergarten year
