It is up to you because there are four different race boards in Heat Pedal to the Metal. In this action-packed board game for 1-6 players, everyone will race around the track using a deck of cards to determine their options each turn.
First, players choose what gear to use, which determines how many cards they can play. Next, they decide how far they will go on the track, based on the value of the cards in their hand that they choose to play. Some turns, drivers will take corners, and it is wise strategy not to drive too quickly at risk of spinning out.
Players can use their heat cards to mitigate overdriving turns and to gain extra distance. When the time is right, be sure to cool down your car by discarding heat cards in your hand back to your engine – thus giving yourself more options on another turn. The first driver to cross the finish line wins the game!
There are instructions included for solo mode, advanced play that incorporates more challenges such as weather conditions, and a championship system. This fast-paced 60-minute game incorporates strategy, luck, and fun and comes in a well-organized box.
