Description

A softcover blank workbook with a framed blank space on one page, and 5/8" ruled lines on the opposite page to keep all your drawing and handwriting creations together.

Category Description for Draw-Write-Now

Draw-Write-Now combines art instruction with handwriting practice and incorporates more than a little history and science instruction along the way. Based on a successful formula created by a former teacher to inspire her students, these inviting books might become your child’s favorite part of the school day!

The books are non-consumable, as your child will do the actual artwork and writing on separate paper or in the optional workbook. Each book is divided into three themes with a total of 21 lessons. In each lesson, a colorful picture shows the author’s model artwork, with neatly penned text on ruled lines underneath. Step-by-step drawing instruction for the main object in the picture is contained on the facing page. Usually, this begins with basic shape(s), and then details are added a little at a time. Text is informational and in short sentences.

After the handwriting is finished, your child can color the picture with crayons, colored pencils, or felt tips. Additional lesson-specific drawing tips and suggestions are offered in the Teaching Tips section.

Better than making copies!
This curriculum has definitely improved my 5 year old daughters handwriting and even reading. She has always enjoyed art. I guess you can say The workbook is not “necessary” but I love how all her writing and drawing is compiled into one book. She can go back and read or color more or add more details to previous pictures easily.

3 Questions
Why did you choose this?

We like using Draw Write Now and wanted the workbook to go along with the books.

I thought this would be good for my son who is working on his print handwriting skills

I own the box set. Great copywork for littles

To pair with the Draw-Write-Now box set.

How many pages does this workbook have?

I counted only about 23 pages to write on.

Would this book be appropriate for the Draw and Write through History series with a fourth grader writing in cursive?

Since this book provides only blank and lined pages, it could be used. However, the lines with dotted middles are wider than typically used for fourth graders and the book itself appears to have a younger child in mind.
