Description

The Workbooks provides all the needed teacher preparation for each level making the program very user-friendly. The first half of each book is the teacher's portion. This comes close to being scripted with all lessons carefully detailed. Copywork and narration excerpts for each lesson are included with background information provided and comprehension questions (with possible answers) that lead the child comfortably to narration. The last half of the books are the student pages. Grade-appropriate writing space is provided on these pages along with copywork models. Occasionally, pen-and-ink illustrations brighten the pages. It is suggested that these be removed and given to the student, but they are reproducible for family use (schools and co-ops need to make other arrangements with Well Trained Mind Press). You can also purchase the pack of Student Pages separately if that is more convenient for you.

Category Description for Complete Writer: Writing with Ease

Writing With Ease provides easy-to-use materials for teaching young students how to form thoughts and develop written communication. Considered a companion to the Well-Trained Mind’s First Language Lessons, it also would work alongside other grammar-based language arts programs. At the heart of the program is the one-on-one instruction. From copywork and dictation (putting words on paper) to narration (verbalizing ideas), students ultimately combine these skills in Year 3 and the optional Year 4There are two options for teaching the course:

  • Option 2: Complete Workbooks for Levels 1-3 (with teaching information and reproducible student pages)
The Text meets the need of families who prefer to create individualized daily lessons following the model given. It provides a program overview of all levels with a week of detailed lesson plans followed by a general scope and sequence for the remainder of each level.

Level 1: Writing with Ease Review
Beautiful curriculum! Well laid out. Perfectly short lessons but so thorough at the same time. Has grammar reminders and facts as well. I personally like to not use the questions before allowing the child to truly Narrate back what they heard, so they learn to order the content in their mind. Aside from using it more for true narration, it’s a perfect template.

From the lessons completed so far it’s a great book. I purchased this along with with the First language lessons for the the Well trained mind level 1. It goes hand in hand and complement each other. It’s to the point, guided for the parent, and clear to the child.

Great writing curriculum
Writing With Ease is one of the best ways to teach kids how to write. This is easy to use and honestly there is no need to buy the separate teacher’s guide.

Great book at a great price!
Awesome book! Right on with grade level yet still challenging. The book makes it easy by giving you exactly what to say and also giving you options to customize the lesson to your specific child!

A Book That Understands A Child Perspective
Writing with ease is simplistic at it's best. The activity book incourages curiousity in both reading and writing. There are questions for parents to ask the child after reading each story. This helps to be engaging through the learning process and it's fun. I would recommend writing with ease to anyone that is looking to teach writing. Your child will enjoy writing after completing writing with ease.

My daughters love WWE! They love reading the passages from great books and answering the questions The passages are so interesting that my daughters are constantly asking me to get the books; they are also getting better at narration It's such a great way to get children comfortable with writing My older daughter is halfway through book 2 and my younger daughter is about to complete book 1 My younger daughter asked to double up on lessons because she's so excited about moving on to the second book For the parent there's no upfront preparation

Why did you choose this?

This curriculum provides easy to use scripted lessons for the instructor, so there is minimal instructor preparation. Excerpts are taken from high quality and fun literature pieces. Great for…

Part of our school 1st grade curriculum

I've used this for each of my children and find it to be easy to implement, effective and efficient with our time.

I have the textbook, but I have decided I would benefit by getting the reading sources to make my instruction easier and less time consuming in trying to find readings related to lessons.
