Trapped in the Tunnel (Brady Street Boys #1)
The theme of this book is the Fruit of the Spirit – love. Terry, Gary, and Larry learn how to love the unlovable in a very realistic way. This is book 1 in the Brady Street Boys series. 199 pgs, pb. ~Amber
Indiana, 1987. Gary Fitzpatrick refuses to let his wooden leg slow him down. And though his dream of becoming a firefighter has gone up in smoke, the young cancer survivor still loves playing alongside his two supportive brothers. But after their mom’s fear of shady strangers in an abandoned house next door threatens to uproot their world, he vows to prove the neighborhood is perfectly safe.
As he starts making plans, the thirteen-year-old is surprised when an eccentric antique dealer asks for help finding the owner of a clock. And when the odd man hands over a map with lines interconnecting the homes in the area, Gary suspects it's showing old underground passageways and sees an opportunity to solve the puzzle.
Deciding not to tell their parents of the mysterious plot, will Gary and his siblings’ choices cost them their lives?

If you like Christian themes, strong family values, and triumphing over adversity, then you will love The Brady Street Boys Adventure Series. There will be nine books in the series, with each book focusing on one of the spiritual fruits: Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance. The three Brady Street Boys, Terry, Gary, and Larry, live in a small town on Brady Street and love adventure! Gary has a wooden leg, due to surviving cancer, but that doesn’t stop him from having fun. While meant for the junior age audience (8-14 years old) this would be a book that parents, teenagers, and young children could enjoy reading as well. This would make a perfect read aloud for the whole family. The illustrations are black and white hand sketches. ~Amber
