Excellent Math Curriculum!
This is the best elementary and middle school math curriculum I have used. And Ive tried many!! I love that all the instruction and explanation is right inside the student workbook. No complicated teachers manual to figure out. It is a solid, well thought out curriculum. It has has similarities to Singapore Math, but much more teacher friendly. With 5 kiddos to manage the simplicity is golden.

I wasnt sure when purchasing how this would work out with my very active 6 year old who doesnt enjoy math. We had used master books and Singapore math previously which were not a good fit for us. This curriculum is a no frills, straight to the point, and very thorough when helping learn different math concepts. I love it and most importantly he is learning. My son is usually not thrilled to do math work but he is willing to do the lessons and it has been really nice to not have power struggles over math anymore. In addition I feel confident in this curriculum and its ability to teach the children core math concepts with enough practice that will ensure understanding before jumping to a new topic. There are some games and puzzles mixed in to the lessons too which my son enjoys. The author did a great job in how they lay out the exercises, its affordable, and we are really enjoying this program.

We are about 25 pages in and loving Math Mammoth 1-A. We had started with another math and it just wasnt working for us. This has been wonderful! My 6 year old comes and asks me to do it every day and asks to do just 1 more page, please! Every time!

Very easy to follow. It does not have any cartoons or fun things, which works perfectly for my kid. No distractions. Will continue using this program.

A Math Program that actually gets done!
We've been using this for almost a month, and love it so far!
For the first time we were able to do math every day of the week.
The program is simple, pretty open and go, but it's challenging at the same time and it gets their nogging working.
The mastery approach provides plenty of practice if they need before moving on, but it also makes it easy to skip ahead if they've mastered a subject.
Also, at the beggining of each new section there's a list with links to online games or videos of the subject being introduced. We haven't needed to use them yet, but it looks very helpful.

I love this math program. I have tried several, including Abeka. It explains things in interesting ways that I have not seen before. Even though you don't have manipulatives to touch (although you can get your own) there are manipulatives printed on the paper so that your visual child can "get" it. So far there are also lots of story problems that are very helpful I think in helping the child know how to apply what they've been learning. It is engaging, and keeps the child interested by doing different things. They focus on only 1 thing at a time, but they do that one thing so many different ways that it doesn't seem like they're doing the same thing over and over. And it really works each concept into the childs' long term memory. We only do two pages a day, and it is not overwhelming. I like that there is no teacher prep also. Abeka was overwhelming for me in that area. Just open and learn with your child! If you feel they need extra practice in a certain area, Maria has videos on how to do that by practicing a few minutes a day on a dry erase board. Very simple. Love, love this, and plan on doing this again next year for my (now) 2nd and 4th graders. I got my 2nd grader Grade 1 and my 4th grader grade 3. It's a lot of review, but I didn't want gaps and they are learning some things they hadn't in their previous curriculum, so I'm glad for the review. So glad we don't dread math time anymore!!

Like the program, would love a different format
Math Mammoth seems like a great program but we have only been using it for a few weeks. You really can't beat it for the price. However, I would be willing to pay a bit extra for a teachers manual that I could use to write notes in for future reference that also had ideas for introducing new concepts. With that being said, each chapter does have an intro with tips, tricks, and thinks to look out for. I just resorted to writing notes to myself in the child's workbook after the lesson and will use that as my teacher's guide in future years. Also, I wish a spiral bound option of the colored edition was available as sometimes the kids have a hard time keeping it open to the correct page.

it's a complete curriculum
My older son is already using Math Mammoth grade 3. My younger son saw his brother's workbook and wanted one just like it.
My oldest son has used MM for grades 1 and 2 so far and has done so well. So now I'm using it for the next two in line! I love that it's open and go and that the instruction is built right into the…
I am liking this curriculum for my son right now and thought I would try it for my daughter too.
