Publisher's Description of Pattern Blocks - .5 cm-Thick Plastic (Set of 250)
This 250-piece set of .5 cm thick Plastic Pattern Blocks is made up of six shapes and colors in a 250 qt bag. The set includes 25 hexagons, 25 squares, 50 triangles, 50 blue rhombuses, 50 white rhombuses, and 50 trapezoids.
These high-quality, washable plastic blocks offer unlimited mathematics and creative play opportunities.
Proportioned shapes allow for the construction of infinite designs, as children work on symmetry, fractions, sorting, geometry, patterning, spatial problem-solving, and more. Choose from wood or plastic, 0.5 cm or 1cm thick. Activity cards provide ideas for patterns to make, or just let them discover on their own.
Nice, thick plastic perfect for making fun geometric designs. Add a hinged mirror for very fun geometry!

Too small for pattern trays
I ordered these because they were recommended to use with the plastic pattern trays. These are too small and were difficult for my children to use in the trays. The Melissa and Doug wooden shapes that we already had actually worked perfectly in the trays.

I bought one set of these for each of my kids and it was worth every penny They love playing with them Theyll sit on the floor making shapes Then my nine year old talks to my three year old about whether or not the shapes are symmetrical My three year old is already grasping basic fraction concepts from these shapes He loves to show us that two red equal one yellow three blue equal one yellow two green equal one blue three green equal one red and six green equal one yellow He is very particular about the shapes he makes with them too They HAVE to be symmetrical If they arent he pulls them apart & starts over Its actually quite entertaining to watch Its amazing that something so simple can teach these concepts to such a young child For a child that is still putting everything in their mouth larger ones may be better However I feel that every child should have a set of pattern blocks Not only are they educational but they allow the kids to use their imaginations as well My kids have made some very interesting shapes with them (if you put a bunch of yellow together they look like a beehive)
