Thomas Edison (In Their Own Words)
I love the idea behind these biographies. They're a unique hybrid of the individual's own words, taken from their personal journals, quotes, records, notes, letters, and anything else from their life, fit into a very well-written and researched biographical framework for young readers. The result is terrific, as you can read the individual's own thoughts and words, while young children don't have to stumble through a much larger and difficult-to-read autobiography to get them. I've previewed Thomas Edison, and the numerous quotes and excerpts from his personal documents, as well as the many included pictures of him, his homes, family, inventions, drawings, documents, that draw you more into his story than any straight biographer's story can. Highly recommended! - Jess
