Big Book of Books and Activities
By “paper artist” Dinah Zike, and chock-full of projects to easily make useful educational manipulatives, gifts, art materials, and books. Most projects in this book require only scissors, paper, glue and markers to construct; yet these commonplace materials can be transformed into uncommonly useful manipulatives. Examples include “layered look” books that ingeniously teach monetary and time equivalents. If you’re on a budget, the ideas in this book could save you a bundle over “store bought” counterparts!

This is an excellent title for a parent who wants to introduce lapbooking into the homeschool. Even if you don't want to make an entire lapbook, the paper projects in this book will give you many ideas for hands-on activities for any topic of study. This book will give you many options for publishing your learning in various types of mini-books and 3D projects. It is a reference that I turn to time and time again. I have found it well worth the money.
