This book is full of reproducible worksheets that provide exercises for weekly spelling lists. The entire book is broken into four sections. The first two sections are similar, but the first has exercises geared toward lower primary and the second for upper. A worksheet is given for each week with 10-12 blanks for new spelling words. Teachers can choose the weekly words themselves or select from the spelling lists in the back of the book. Then exercises are given for Monday to Thursday to prepare for a spelling test on Friday. These exercises are simple and focus on teaching kids to remember spelling. Examples include rewriting the words a certain number of times, writing words in spelling stairs, looking up words in the dictionary, making a word search, circling the spelling words in a passage, writing sentences using the spelling words, and more. The third section of the book has a similar format, but each week’s worksheet focuses on specific spelling skills or certain types of words (example: vowel sounds, “F” sound made by “PH”, double consonants, pronouns, etc.). The last section of the book is full of forms and word lists for the teacher.
