Arranged alphabetically, it’s easy to look up particular letter combinations. Helpful sections in the front of the book discuss letter names vs. sounds, variations in spelling, syllabication, roots and affixes, vowels, silent vowels, consonant sounds, hard and soft “c” and “g,” consonant teams and blends, silent letters, and homonyms. The main reference section contains spelling lists, samples, discussion of and counts for each letter and letter combination. For constructs that can make more than one sound, a separate page is devoted to each. With a little imagination, you could even create a phonics program around it! 342 pgs, pb.

This is an incredible book that details the entire alphabet. From enunciation of the sound to why and when it should make a different sound. It is written for easy understanding and diagrammed with examples. It also includes letter blends and expands on where certain dialects are found in the English language.
