Three sections contain lessons for the alphabet, consonants and vowels. Units are not in a particular order as the author expects you to use them in whatever sequence you wish. Units generally introduce the target letter/sound with a short lesson, a rhyme, and an art activity. Starting with the lively ABC, Follow Me rhyme to the Long U chorus, the corresponding rhymes, songs, and chants are well-done (author is talented). Crafts are designed both to teach basic art elements and build sound recognition. These are as simple as possible; most require only crayons, glue sticks, and scissors. More elaborate and creative projects are suggested for those who have more time to devote to this aspect. Written both with groups and parents in mind, this program can easily be used in the home school. Fun rhymes and lesson format will have your child looking forward to each new letter sound. How about a chorus of Inkso, Blinkso, I Don’t Think So!’ to learn the sound of short i?
