A World of Adventure has made this the best school year we've ever had! My children are 3rd and 5th grade and have always been homeschooled. We've tried other unit studies, but always got bogged down with planning or doing crafts. This program is so well-thought out, I can hardly believe it. All subjects are covered except math and typing. We are doing a separate spelling program, but spelling is included if you choose to use hers. The day starts with Bible--even the Bible lessons correlate with the history. There are great read-alouds. Science is very thorough as well. It reminds me of some of the materials we've used from Apologia. Even language arts are covered--grammar and writing lessons are all pulled from the day's reading. Other than the read-alouds, no specific books are required--just what you have or can find at the library which is a big money saver. Oh, and Fine Arts are also included--wonderful projects that fit in with the study, not just something thrown in there to keep kids busy. Ms. Holt seems to have thought of everything. We look forward to using A New World of Adventure next year!

In my fifteen years of homeschooling my children, I have found Learning Adventures to be the best curriculum out there. It is all inclusive, except for math, and each subject is thoroughly and interestingly taught. I am especially impressed with the writing part of the curriculum. It starts out simply and builds upon itself. By the time your student completes "Westward and Onward," (Book 3 of the series) he/she will be writing high school level term papers. The curriculum is intended for grades 4-8, but is easily adaptable for higher or lower grades. We kept using it through Grade 10 by just adding a high school science text. My son tested very high on his ACT in the 9th grade, while using only Learning Adventures and a high school math text. Our family has so many wonderful memories of all the hands-on activities, wonderful books we've read, the Bible Scriptures memorized, and all the yummy recipes we have tried in the past four years while using this curriculum. (Many of the recipes are now in our recipe box to use over and over again.)

This was our first year to use A World of Adventure and we absolutely loved it! This is a very easy to use, thorough, and interesting curriculum. I love the fact that all areas of study are combined. This definitely increased my sons interest level in subjects that he would otherwise find boring, such as language arts. He loved learning the key elements of literature and continues to refer to them when discussing a book he is currently reading. I especially like that this curriculum uses primarily library books which is a huge blessing to our family budget! A World of Adventure is affordable, flexible, and above all fun and we will definitely continue with A New World of Adventure.
