Kids love playing 20 Questions, and these books bring the fun to another level. The unique thing about these books is that a spinner is included in the jacket of the binding, which allows kids to turn the trivia questions into a little game. The basic 20 Questions book has a spinner that can land on people, places, things, and years. The spinners in the Girls and Kids books only have spaces for people, places, and things. Players spin the wheel and then flip to the start of the determined category (i.e. person, place, thing, or year). Twenty clues are then given for one item. The “Reader” reads the clues while other players try to solve the puzzle. The twenty clues build upon each other and hopefully players solve the puzzle before the 20 questions are up. Examples of clues from the “I Am a Thing” section include: I’m tall for my age. I have stories that can’t be told. Superman can fly higher than me. I have 3,194,547 light bulbs. I took seven million man hours to build. I was completed in 1931, etc. The reader reads one clue at a time, giving players a chance to guess the answer. Players get points for solving the puzzles, and the first player to 10 points is the winner (it’s the Empire State Building). In the original 20 Questions book, each category (person, place, thing, year) has 28 different things, and each one has 20 clues. These are general items that the majority of players should know about. 20 Questions for Girls has 24 people, 17 places, and 32 things, which include some girl-focused items like famous female athletes, actresses, etc. 20 Questions for Kids includes 24 items in each category and features items kids may be familiar with (cartoons, animals, movies). Please note that all the books are pretty up to date, and kids who don’t watch much TV or know the names of many celebrities may have a hard time with some of the questions. With a spinner right in the book, challenging but fun clues, and a format perfect for independent play or large groups, these books are great for at home or traveling fun. Whatever title you decide on, your family will enjoy! Books measure 6” x 6” and are softcover. ~ Rachel
