Diana D. from Bible wrote the following on 02/20/2008:
This book is well worth using. My children,4 and 7, loved the stories and worked hard and happy memorizing the verses. It brought about some wonderful discussion that I have been praying for in my seven year old. Two of my other children, 9 and 10, listened with great interest as we did the simple to use lessons.
Elizabeth K. from Texas wrote the following on 04/25/2008:
This book is a gem! It explains some difficult concepts (regarding God and other Bible doctrines) in a simple, understandable way. The author writes with a personable and gentle, yet fervent, style that makes the message of each lesson both plain and enjoyable. My children, ages 3 and 5, look forward to hearing me read from this book and remind me about it if I forget!
Each lesson gives an explanation of the concept taught (about one page), "something to talk about," a suggested Scripture reading, a verse to memorize, a hymn to sing, and a suggested prayer. I have found this format easy to adapt to our needs, substituting a different song, etc. when appropriate. We use the book for our school Bible lesson but it would be good for family devotions with young children as well. We used this book for our preschool Bible lessons but stopped and began something else when we started Kindergarten. I have gone back to "Leading Little Ones to God" though because it explains the Bible in such a clear, simple manner. It is definitely our favorite and we hope to go through it several times with each of our children.
