Great series of books!!!!!!
I love them! When I first started to work at the Montessori school they used this and advance series for kindergarten and grade 1 kids. I was looking this in 2006 when I bought my own Montessori school but never found it. Now I have a home daycare and finally I found it. These are great little books and kids learn to read very fast. I’m glad that I found it and I can use it for my daycare reading program.
Thank you!

Excellent readers using CVC words!
My kindergarten boys have been using these work book that goes along with these readers. I hesitated to buy all the readers, but I am SO glad I got them.
I have searched for kindergarten readers that use the basic CVC words and sight words. It was hard to find, most had too many words that were not kindergarten level. I wanted something the boys could easily practice what they have learned and even read on their own. The boys are so excited to read them to us and even take them to go read to their animals! Well worth the purchase.

My dyslexic son can READ these!
My 8yo son is profoundly dyslexic. While he's making steady (albeit slow) progress with his reading curriculum, what he really needed was more fluency practice. But aaaall of the 'early readers' I find out there are complete junk. They are not decodable at all. These books have been an absolute life safer and confidence builder for my child. There are a few words per book that he hasn't learned yet in his curriculum, but we are able to manage these. I'm telling everyone about these books.

I bought these for my grandson who is going into first grade. He wanted some books he could read by himself. They are perfect. It has sight words as well as Cvc words to sound out. Good fit!

Thank you
I love this series for my classroom. I ordered a set to give out to kids during covid shut down. My first pack was accidentally sent to my school address (my mistake) and Rainbow Resources was very kind and generous. They accepted the return and immediately sent another pack to my home. I received them in time to give out to my emergent readers who are reading at home. Thank you so much Rainbow Resources!

7 Questions
Why did you choose this?

recommended to go with phonics curriculum, which I have heard is an excellent choice for phonics

Excellent program! We homeschooled for 25 years and always began with this series, now we are teaching the next generation and delighted to be visiting with our old friends Mac & Tab and all their…

it works

We use Primary Phonics in the classroom. I would like to send a book home with a child to read to his/her family.

Are these books in color?

No, the illustrations are identical to what you see on the cover. A child could always color them in themselves, but honestly the set is a worthwhile purchase for the reading practice alone, as the stories were interesting enough that my new reader self-motivated to read them all.

can I get this in an ebook format?

We only offer them in print editions.

Do you have to put the books together? Or do they come already put together?

The books come as storybooks. They have a stapled binding.

Do these books have references to religion? I teach in a public school with a wide variety of student backgrounds, so I do not want to use books with any religious references.

There are absolutely no religious references in these books. I was first introduced to them at an international Montessori school more than 30 years ago and purchased them for my grandson when he was first learning to read. Fabulous phonetic approach to our tricky language.

Do you sell separate books from each set or do you sell only by sets?

These are only available in sets.

Are they books or are they reproducible?

These are small books or booklets. We have used them as essential primers for beginner readers at the pre-K level for 15 years. You could scan or copy them, but not to the same quality. As they are primers, children do not yet have the skill set to treat books as gently as they should be. These ones stand up to that treatment year after year.
